Jennifer Shows Off Her Crib

Filed under: Movies — Joanna @ 8:40 pm

Before Jennifer Carpenter nabbed her breakout role as the deliciously dysfunctional sister on Showtime’s Dexter, before her haunting portrayal of the title character in the 2005 film The Exorcism of Emily Rose, she was just another struggling actress in Hollywood, crashing at a friend’s house and sleeping on lawn chair cushions. Next to her—on an air mattress—was Ariel Ashe, a good friend from New York City, where both went to college (Jennifer studied acting at Juilliard; Ariel studied set design at New York University). “Of course,” Jennifer recalls of the setup, “Ariel’s little sleeping pallet was beautiful. She even bought a mosquito net to hang over it like a princess bed.”

Look inside Jennifer’s home and check out the backyard tepee!

A lot has changed in the past decade; what hasn’t is the women’s relationship. So last year, when Jennifer bought her first home, a 1,000-square-foot bungalow in Los Angeles’s Laurel Canyon, one of her first calls was to Ariel—now an interior designer with her own Manhattan firm, Ashe + Leandro—to enlist her friend’s help in the makeover. “I basically said, ‘Let’s go and have some fun,’” Jennifer says. “The job was half work, half catching up with each other,” Ariel adds. “We’d start a telephone conversation on paint colors and glassware, and then end on boyfriends.”

In one of their first discussions about the place, Ariel asked Jennifer to describe her personal aesthetic, to which Jennifer could only reply, “Um, I like Eames,” thinking of the chair her father sat in during her childhood in Louisville, Kentucky. “Suddenly, I realized that I knew nothing about design,” Jennifer says. “I had no language to talk about my tastes.” But unlike most decorator-client relationships—which, at their outset, might require poring over countless tear sheets and inspiration boards—Ariel was familiar enough with Jennifer’s likes and dislikes to more than make up for any difficulty Jennifer had in articulating them. “People ask me what kind of research Ariel did in designing the house,” Jennifer says. “And I tell them, ‘The past decade that we’ve known each other.’”

According to sources close to the show, season three of Dexter starts shooting June 9, and the season premiere is currently scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 28! ‘Dexter’ Adds More Cast Members for Season 3

Filed under: Dexter, News / Gossip — Joanna @ 2:15 pm

From BuddyTV

Dexter will soon raid our TV screens when Showtime’s psychological thriller returns for a third season this October. Last season, Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who works for the Miami Metro Police Department as a blood spatter analyst, was unable to satisfy his killer urges for over a month due to the discovery of his underwater dumping ground for his victims and the constant surveillance of Sgt. Doakes. After he realized that he was the cause of his father’s death, Dexter started to question his identity and the “Code of Harry,” the belief system that rationalizes his existence and survival as a serial killer. In the explosive ending, Sgt. Doakes died and Dexter was able to get himself out of a tricky situation.

Now that Dexter is ready to embark on new bloodlust adventures, carefully killing the criminals that have slip through the justice system without the “Code of Harry,” the Miami Metro Police Department has to be more than ready to take down America’s favorite serial killer.

According to Zap2it.com, the Miami Metro will be expanding its police force in attempt to catch the serial killer on the loose. Names have not yet been cast for the new roles of the third season of Dexter, which is about to start shooting. Nevertheless, some information about the new characters have already been hinted.

Fans can look forward to at least six new faces in the upcoming season of Dexter starting off with Joey Quinn, a likable cop who recently joined the police department. Also included are Miguel Vega, an up-and-coming ADA, his brother Ruben, who will also join the force, and Miguel’s wife Isabel. Moreover, this season will feature a young Internal Affairs agent named Yuki Amado and a sexy, strong African-American musician named Anton, who will be quite visible throughout the season.

Dexter presently stars Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar and Lauren Velez.

Dexter duo dating?

Filed under: News / Gossip — Joanna @ 12:12 pm

Michael C. Hall plays a crime-solving serial killer on the hit show Dexter, while Jennifer Carpenter co-stars as his detective sister with a Daddy complex. But the on-set siblings share an even closer bond when the cameras are off: The pair are dating, sources have told People.

“I don’t see what the big deal is,” said a source close to the couple. “They play brother and sister on the show, but they are actors, after all.”

Hall and Carpenter were spotted dining out in Los Angeles recently.

“It was romantic,” an observer said. “They were drinking champagne and there was the clinking of glasses.”
